Loretta Howard Gallery and Yares Art are pleased to announce their co-representation of
Larry Poons. Loretta Howard will continue its long history with the artist, focusing on historical
works by Poons while Yares Art will focus primarily on recent paintings. New works are currently on
view at Yares Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico and a survey exhibition will open at Yares Art, New York
on September 16th featuring the most recent series of major-scale paintings as well as select works
from the past five decades. A sixty-page catalogue reflecting thirty paintings from 1962-2017 will
be released in honor of Poons' 80th birthday on October 1st.
Larry Poons is a postwar American artist known for his radical pursuit of painting spanning a period

Responsive Eye." In 1969, Poons was the youngest artist featured in curator Henry Geldzahler’s
landmark survey, "New York Painting and Sculpture, 1940-1970" and the only artist in the
exhibition to be given an entire room.
The work of Larry Poons is included in major museum and private collections throughout the
United States and abroad including the Albright-Knox Gallery, Buffalo, Art Gallery of Ontario,
Toronto, Denver Art Museum, Denver, CO, Hirschorn, Museum and Sculpture Garden,
